Wi‑Fi or 4G: how do I choose?
Stand where the camera will go. If your phone streams video on your Wi‑Fi there, the Wi‑Fi model is fine. If it doesn't, or the spot is a gate, paddock, block or building site, choose 4G. It runs on its own Telstra or Optus SIM, the same mobile network your phone uses. If in doubt, 4G is the safer choice.
Can I mix Wi‑Fi and 4G cameras?
Yes. In a bundle, every camera has its own Wi‑Fi or 4G choice, so the one on the house can be Wi‑Fi and the one on the front gate 4G. They all show up in the same free app.
Does the 4G model need a SIM?
Yes, its own Telstra or Optus SIM. Check there's phone signal at the exact spot before you mount it. Works in 5G areas too, and it's Starlink compatible.
How many cameras do I really need?
Fewer than you'd think. Each Guardian pans and tilts a full 360°, so one on a corner can cover a driveway, a door and a side gate. Add a camera for each spot it can't see, like a front gate kilometres from the house.
Are there any ongoing fees?
No subscription, ever. Footage saves to the included 64GB SD card and syncs to your phone. You own the camera and the footage. The 4G model uses your own SIM's data plan with your carrier.
What if there's no sun for days?
The battery holds four‑plus days with no sun at all, and the 7.5W panel tops it back up as soon as there's daylight. Point the panel north, clear of eaves and trees.
Can my family see the cameras too?
Yes. Unlimited family sharing is free. Your partner, your kids and the neighbour who feeds the dogs all get the same live view and alerts.
